Ju Aichinger (geb. 1995 in Bad Ischl, OÖ) ist eine in Wien lebende Künstler_in, die interdisziplinär mit Keramik, Installation, Kostüm und Malerei arbeitet. Derzeit studiert sie an der Akademie der bildenden Künste in der Abteilung für kontextuelle Malerei und erkundet Ton in seiner formalen und expressiven Bandbreite. Ihre skulpturalen Arbeiten bewegen sich zwischen Vertrautem und Abstraktion, geprägt von visuellen Referenzen aus queerer Subkultur, popkulturellen Einflüssen und alltäglichen Fragmenten. Im Zentrum ihrer künstlerischen Praxis steht die Auseinandersetzung mit Identifikation, Gesellschaft und dem Selbst.
Neben ihrer eigenen künstlerischen Praxis gestaltet Ju Bühnenbilder und Kostüme, zuletzt für hold yr ache 2 my ache von Lau Lukkarila (TQW, 2024), Lapse and the Scarlet Sun (ImPulsTanz, 2023) und hearing the wild heart von Alex Franz Zehetbauer (brut, 2022). Ihre Arbeiten wurden in Ausstellungen wie Corporate Unwellness (Schwindel LLC), Was machen Sachen (Plain Art) und Soft Machine (Phileas, kuratiert von Ashley Hans Scheirl & Jakob Lena Knebel) präsentiert. Als Mitgründer_in des Kollektivs Zirkusgasse – Raum für Kunst und theatralische Zusammenkünfte kuratierte Ju 2023 den Raum Zirkusgasse 38, der als Schnittstelle zwischen Kunst, Kuration, Stagedesign und Begegnung fungiert.

Ju Aichinger (born 1995 in Bad Ischl, Upper Austria) is a Vienna-based interdisciplinary artist who works with ceramics, installation, costume and painting. She is currently studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in the department for contextual painting and explores clay in its formal and expressive range. Her sculptural works move between the familiar and the abstract, characterized by visual references from queer subculture, pop cultural influences and fragments from everyday life. At the center of her artistic practice is the examination of identification, society and the self.
In addition to her own artistic practice, Ju designs sets and costumes, most recently for hold yr ache 2 my ache by Lau Lukkarila (TQW, 2024), Lapse and the Scarlet Sun (ImPulsTanz, 2023) and hearing the wild heart by Alex Franz Zehetbauer (brut, 2022). Her work has been presented in exhibitions such as Corporate Unwellness (Schwindel LLC), Was machen Sachen (Plain Art) and Soft Machine (Phileas, curated by Ashley Hans Scheirl & Jakob Lena Knebel). As co-founder of the Kollektiv Zirkusgasse – space for art and dramatic meetings, Ju 2023 curated the space Zirkusgasse 38, which functions as an interface between curation, stage design and happenings.
